Dr. Kozo Ishizaki
Dr. Kozo Ishizaki is a Professor of Nagaoka University of Technology.
A Metallurgical Engineer and Materials Science Educator. For more than a decade Dr. Ishizaki lived and worked at Simon Bolivar University in Caracas, Venezuela as a professor, and was later made an Honorary Professor there, in 1994.
Furthermore, he was awarded the Nishiyama Memorial Prize of the Iron and Steel Institute in 1995, Academic Achievements in Ceramic Science and Technology, Japan Ceramic Society in 1976.
He was awarded Academic Medal of Simon Bolivar University in 2000. Honorary Doctor of Hanoi University of Technology in 2003, and Medal of Educational Cause, Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam in 2004.
The author of a number of books, including “Porous Materials”, 1998. Professor Ishizaki is both an author and editor of “Grain-Boundary Controlled Properties”, 1994, and “Grain Size and Mechanical Properties”, 1995, editor of “Surface Modification”, 1995, contributor of more than 300 articles to science publications, and holder of 31 patents in his field of Materials Science and Engineering.
His research topics include porous materials, surface modification, high pressure material synthesize, diamond and machining, engineering ceramics, and nano machining. Besides acting as editor of the Journal of Porous Materials in 1994, since 1990 and 1995 respectively he has sat on the editorial boards of Material Technology and the Bulletin of Japan Ceramic Society. Also he was a Volume Organizer of Materials Research Society (MRS) Bulletin, in 2000.
