Delegating Your Monitoring Process: The How-To Guide

Delegate Your Environmental Monitoring to Hanwell

A well-established brand, Hanwell has a reputation of being the most flexible, durable, and reliable system available in the industrial market. Hanwell’s systems are capable of growing with an organization, providing a uniquely future proof solution to monitoring. The systems are also designed to provide customers with a complete solution to existing environmental monitoring and control requirements.

The following table illustrates the complete range of Hanwell monitoring formats and the product capabilities within a monitoring process, from measurement of the required parameter to generating  the potential action required. The Hanwell systems have been custom designed to meet a wide range of requirements with varying product capabilities because even though monitoring principles are similar, all buildings, budgets, and resources are different.

5 Step Monitoring Process

Hanwells full range of format options:

  Indicator Data Logger Radio/GPRS Radio/Control
1 Measure parameter
2 Display data
3 Log/Transmit Data
4 Data Collation/Reporting
5 Generate Action

Advantages of Monitoring with Hanwell

  • Extended life and user changeable battery
  • Reliable, durable, and accurate hardware for prolonged monitoring solutions
  • Completely validated systems available to meet strict regulatory compliance
  • Future proof system with flexible software and hardware options
  • Complete closed loop environmental monitoring and control system solutions
  • Variety of product parameter options which include CO2, temperature, pressure, humidity, energy, and many more
  • Comprehensive software reporting and analysis tools
  • Hanwell offers a wide range of monitoring solutions from single application to multiple applications within multiple sites
  • Proven radio range of 3 km over open ground

Radio-Wave Your Manual Checks Goodbye

The Hanwell radio technology provides users with a durable and reliable system capable of covering a range of 3 km over open ground. In addition to being cost-effective, the system can be installed easily due to its wireless format. Up to 253 sensor transmissions can be received by the base station, which also provides users with an optimum solution to comprehensive monitoring.

Unless the monitoring requirements are isolated (where a data logger option is considered to be the most cost-effective solution), the most logical system format is radio. Radio monitoring prevents the need for user manual checks and sends appropriate data and alerts to a local PC or network for instant action. Data is fed into an organizations network for a multiple site monitoring solution via other Hanwell radio monitored sites.

Complete Closed Loop Monitoring and Control

Hanwell wireless systems possess the unique ability to incorporate control functionality into the system in addition to monitoring. These systems stand out from other wireless monitoring system providers because of their ability to monitor and control environments.

Hanwell’s closed loop monitoring and control solutions can be achieved a number of ways to suit the requirements of the customer. The simplest way is using Hanwell MS1000 relay of analog cards to interface directly to a BMS system.

The MS1000 system is considered to be ideal when a small number of sensor readings need to be interfaced to a BMS system; for larger systems with several sensor points the following options are available:

  • OPC server (software to software communication)
  • Local radio receiver with Modbus RTU output
  • Modbus TCP service

Using either Modbus or OPC, Hanwell wireless sensors can be interfaced to industry standard SCADA systems.

The Schematic Below Details how a System can be Used for Standalone Control

  1. Transmitter records and sends data to CR2
  2. The CR2 sends a command to the MS1000 to restore conditions if a sensor has breached a predetermined setting
  3. Data is stored on a local network and can be accessed by multiple servers if required. The site can be accessed by multiple users via their local PC/server.

The Schematic Below Details how a System can be Interfaced into a Local BMS

  1. Transmitter records and sends data to CR2
  2. The CR2 sends a command to the BMS to restore conditions if a sensor has breached a predetermined setting
  3. Data is stored on a local network and can be accessed by multiple servers if required. The site can be accessed by multiple users via their local PC/server.

Creating Synergy Between You and Your Critical Environments

Synergy is the software platform that takes environmental monitoring data display to another level by bringing together all the Hanwell hardware. All data is recorded in the Synergy database and all transmitters are configured through Synergy.

Full data collection with interactive graphs, plan views, and tables allow users to slice historical data in multiple ways for sophisticated analysis as well as set alarms and report on alarms generated. Customizable groups enable managing synergy user access levels. Managing environmental data has never been as easily accessible to so many – whatever and whenever individuals need it – from wherever they are.

Whatever You Need

  • Access interactive graphs, plan views and tables for detailed data analysis
  • Share data with users and allocate permissions to different data groups where required
  • Display rapid overview of sites and/or sensor groups specified by individual users
  • Multi or single user access for large, medium, or small monitoring needs
  • Data collection and display of more environmental parameters than any other product on the market

Whenever You Need It

  • View real-time data continuously
  • Generate automated reports or access data instantly and effortlessly via the system
  • Immediate system, email, and SMS alarm notification to user-defined personnel

Wherever You Are

  • View and interact with data and settings from all over the world using commercially available browser based formats e.g. IE or Firefox
  • Access critical information on the local PC, through company intranet or network and also through the internet

Optional add-on SMS-alarm provides SMS notification of alarms and optional add-on E-alarm provides email notification of alarms. RadioLog8 is available for validated users.
