| Eastman Resins, a wholly owned division of Eastman Chemicals have introduced Ultra-Rez 500, a new generation of phenolic-modified rosin esters. This product has been designed for lithographic applications, specifically the development of versatile inks. The low polarity nature of Ultra-Rez 500 enables formulators to balance fountain solutions with ink, resulting in a wider water window. The ability to use less water has advantages such as less colour shift and improved consistency in ink coverage during print runs, as well as less wastage. Other properties of the new product include: • High viscosity • Good compatibility with a wide range of substrates • Good rheological stability allowing for variations in temperature and consistently providing a sharp-dot print The Ultra-Rez 500 range of resins are suited to high performance paste or oil based printing inks typically used in varnishes, vehicles, coatings and adhesives. |
