We have great pleasure in announcing the launch of what has become a prestigious event, the EPMA ‘Innovations in Powder Metallurgy’ Awards for 2003. Over the years, this scheme has done much to promote and stimulate interest in PM technology. The awards will be presented during a special “Awards Luncheon” at the Euro PM 2003 Conference taking place in Valencia, Spain, from 20th - 22nd October and as such will provide an excellent opportunity for companies both to showcase their achievements and to provide an opportunity to bring key customers to the fine city of Valencia.
There will be 4 main categories of Award:
1. 1. Components - covering all types of powder metallurgy products, e.g. structural parts, bearings, wear resistant and corrosion resistant parts, powder metallurgy semi-products, hardmetals, metal injection moulded parts, magnets etc.
2. Materials - powders evaluated on the basis of their material properties
3. Production Equipment - presses, furnaces, tooling etc.
4. International Powder Metallurgy Award (from all categories) - for companies operating outside of Europe
Entries will be judged by a multinational panel of experts who evaluate each submission in terms of: improved quality, likely cost savings, product or material novelty, and the extent to which the development promotes the discipline and encourages increased use of PM materials and technology.
Short videos of the prize winners will be shown at the Awards Luncheon and extensive press coverage will be given to the winners.
Entry is free and is open to all EPMA members. The closing date for submissions is 31st May 2003. Any company interested in entering the competition should contact the EPMA or visit the EPMA website
