New Product: CorFree M1 Corrosion Inhibitor from DuPont

Through its subsidiary DuPont C12 Intermediates, DuPont have released CorFree M1™ an upgraded corrosion inhibitor.

The New CorFree M1 boasts increased corrosion inhibitor purity and is free of nitrites.

It is suited to use in metalworking fluids, engine coolants, metal cleaners, aqueous hydraulic fluids, die cast release agents and offshore fluids. It can be used in amine salt formulations where it provides superior corrosion resistance to alternatives such as sebacic acid, azelaic acid and long chain monobasic acids.

CorFree M1 also has good hard water stability and does not leave hard-to-clean residues, as is the case with some other corrosion inhibitors.

Compared to other acid corrosion inhibitors, CorFree M1 is more efficient, requiring lower dosages to achieve similar results. This is because it lays down a strong protective layer on the metals surface, which increases corrosion resistance by a factor of three.
