Ceram Open Ceramic Quality Testing Facility in China - News Item

Ceram, the internationally renowned centre for materials and technology, based in Stoke-on-Trent, UK, will take the opportunity of exhibiting at Ceramics China to announce the expansion of its testing facility, of tabletop, sanitaryware, tiles and raw materials, into China.

The Ceram Approved Laboratory Scheme will be expanded into China with a new facility at the HuaXia Ceramic Exposition City, Guangdong province.  This is the first approved laboratory in mainland China and it is strongly linked with the JingDeZhen ceramics Institute in Jiangxi Province.

The opening of this new facility allows manufacturers to ensure that products produced in China for the UK and European market, will be produced to the high quality required.

Dr Graham Oliver of Ceram commented:  “Once fully operational Ceram will audit the laboratory for all tests accredited under the scheme, upon passing a ‘Ceram Approved’ logo will be issued to be used on test reports.  The approval scheme and logo guarantees the quality of the testing that has been conducted, so all customers can be confident of the results and subsequently the items they are testing.”

The testing agreement will be the first in a series of co-operations between Ceram and the HuaXia laboratory, which will result in a chain of laboratories and offices that will cover mainland China.
