Background
Exova's inspection facilities provide CGSB, ASNT, API, CWB and in-house qualified personnel for laboratory testing, customer and supplier site inspections. Exova's NDT facilities work in close liaison with other divisions of Exova, often performing the mandatory NDT that forms part of a total inspection package.
Ultrasonic Testing: Ultrasonic methods of NDT use beams of sound waves (vibrations) of short wavelength and high frequency, transmitted from a probe and detected by the same or other probes.
Dye Penetrant: This method employs a penetrating liquid, which is applied over the surface of the component and enters the discontinuity, crack or seam.
Magnetic Particle Inspection: This method is for locating surface and sub-surface discontinuities in ferromagnetic material.
Visual Inspection: This method can be utilised for QA witnessing of supplier quality measurements, method and spec validation, structural welding inspection, pipe/ tank/ vessel inspection andequipment performance and safety characteristics.
