The AvaSpec-ULS2048CL-EVO is another member of Avantes’ EVO series. This spectrometer uses CMOS rather than the traditional CCD technology and is fully up to date and ready for the next 10 years.

CCD detectors have dominated the spectrometer field but this trend is declining and novel technologies, like CMOS, have evolved and become an appropriate alternative. The AvaSpec-ULS2048CL-EVO provides users with this new technology, guaranteeing a spectrometer platform for the years to come.

In association with Avantes’ new AS-7010 electronics, the AvaSpec-ULS2048CL-EVO provides users with a multipurpose device, such as USB3.0 communication that has 10 times higher speed than USB2, and a second communication port that provides Gigabit Ethernet for incorporation in a company network and a chance for remote communication, all at a reasonable price.

In addition to the high speed communication options, the EVO series spectrometers also provide a rapid microprocessor and a 50-fold increased memory capacity, allowing users to preserve extra spectra onboard and achieve more functionality.

Options contain a detector collection lens to improve sensitivity in the 200 to 1100 nm range and an order-sorting filter to decrease second-order effects. The AvaSpec-2048CL also comes with an extensive range of gratings, slit sizes and fiber-optic entrance connectors.

The spectrometer is delivered complete with a USB cable, AvaSoft-Basic software and a comprehensive manual.

The AvaSpec-ULS2048CL-EVO also comes with an OEM unit, Rackmount, or bench-only model.
