AvaSpec-NIR-256 Fibre Optic Spectrometer from Anglia Instruments

The AvaSpec-NIR-256 Fibre Optic Spectrometer is based on the AvaBench-50 symmetrical Czerny-Turner design with 256 pixel InGaAs Detector Array.

AvaSpec-NIR-256 has a fibre optic entrance connector (as standard SMA - other types are possible), collimating and focusing mirror and diffractional grating. A choice of 2 different gratings with different dispersion and blaze angles enable applications in the 1000-2200nm range.

Also coming soon is an TE cooled extended range version for applications up to 2600nm.

  • The AvaSpec-NIR-256 includes a 14bit A/D converter and high speed USB2.0 interface.
  • The AvaSpec-NIR-256-1.7 is especially suitable in the NIR range from 1000-1700nm to applications, e.g. plastics and water absorbance.
  • The AvaSpec-NIR-256-2.2 has a 2 stage Thermo-Electric Peltier cooled InGaAs detector especially suitable for measuring in the NIR range 1000-2200nm.

Digital IO ports enable external triggering and control of a shutter and pulsed light sources from the Avantes line of instruments.

The new AvaSpec-NIR-256 has a USB2 interface with fast data sampling of 940 spectra per second, data transfer in 1.56msec and supports analog in and outputs.

Optional Bluetooth (-BT) communication and an SDRAM card for on-board saving of spectra can be added.

The AvaSpec-NIR-256-1.7 runs on USB power, the AvaSpec-NIR-256-2.2 comes in a desktop housing and runs on 100-240VAC. Both are supplied with AvaSoft-BASIC, a complete manual and USB interface cable.

For USB2 platform devices, multiple (up to 127) spectrometers with different detector types can be externally coupled (for further information, please view the section 'Multichannel Spectrometers').
