The FOX-IQ XRF system performs fully automated online analysis for 100% high-volume process control. X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) is a proven analytical technique commonly used to quickly and non-detructively verify alloy grade and chemistry. The FOX-IQ is a compact system that integrates easily with new or existing PLC-controlled processes. This CE-certified system is engineered for 24/7 operation in industrial environments - it can endure high levels of vibration, electromagnetic and acoustical noise, in addition to dust and moisture. The FOX-IQ's compact design and minimal power requirements provide quick and easy integration of both new and existing operations.
Each FOX-IQ delivers pass/fail tests, accurate grade ID, and chemistry with automated links to the QC/QA reporting system. The FOX-IQ is controlled by a PC for start/stop, data acquisition, decision making, and communication to external devices.
Design and Specifications
FOX-IQ's compact design is fitted into current process operations with minimal changes to existing infrastructure. Its flexibility allows for easy and fast on-site installation as well as for any subsequent process modifications. The FOX-IQ is engineered for 24/7 operation with minimal power requirements. It is fully industrialized to endure high levels of vibration, acoustical, and electromagnetic noise.
The FOX-IQ's industry hardened Probe Head Assembly includes an X-ray tube, detector, and front end DSP electronics. For liquid processes, it contains a liquid flow cell with a safety window, leak detection system, and PLC controlled valve system. The safety window in combination with the leak detection system and PLC controlled valve system guarantee trouble free operation and safety in case of window rupture.
The FOX-IQ's Electrical Interface Assembly contains all electric and electronic components. Its PLC has 13 free inputs and 5 free outputs for connecting auxiliary equipment and a touch screen computer for easy set-up and diagnosis. The User Interface Computer equipped with the PC software controls the instrument, analyzes sample spectra, manages results and interfaces to external devices through RS 485 or TCP/IP. Different enclosures are available to suit specific site requirements.
