Testing Elastomers with AutoX750 Extensometer from Instron

This video shows tensile testing of elastomers and rubber to ASTM D412 and ISO 37 standards using AutoX750 Extensometer from Instron. These standards cover a range of materials including thermoset (vulcanized) and thermoplastic elastomers, with test specimens being molded or die cut.

Because of the extensibility that rubbers and elastomers exhibit, extensometers are usually required to accurately measure elongation or stretch while loading is applied.
