Rope Tensile Strength Test Using Admet's eXpert 7603 Testing Machine

This video illustrates the tensile strength testing of a consumer-grade rope carried out using the Admet's eXpert 7603 universal testing machine.

The tensile rope grips are modeled in such a way that the rope will break in the center instead of the pinch points. When pulled apart during the test, the rope broke in the mid 300 pound range at a 50" per min strain rate.
