This video demonstrates the functioning of a rugged, handheld, lightweight Raman system, the TruScan from Ahura Scientific, a unit of Thermo Fisher Scientific. This system can be used for the identification of counterfeit drugs and raw material verification in pharmaceutical industries.
Sealed packages are examined to minimize the risk of exposure and contamination by non-destructive point-and-shoot operation. The sample is verified typically within 30 s by using the TruScan’s embedded analysis software to deliver a PASS/FAIL decision.
