Micro Materials NanoTest Vantage - Comprehensive Nanomechanical Testing Centre
Denise Hoban from Micro Materials tells us about their recently launched NanoTest Vantage nanomechanical testing system. It is a unique instrument that can carry out a number of tests at temperatures ranging from less than 0°C up to 750°C. These test include:
- Nanoindentation
- Dynamic hardness testing
- Repetitive impact for fracture of fatigue testing
- Nanoscratch/wear/fretting
The ability to run tests at various non-ambient temperatures enables engineers and designers to better simulate real life operating conditions so they can more accurately optimise their materials.
The new NanoTest Vantage also incorporates numerous upgrades over the previous model. Denise discusses these in this interview.
