ISO 34 Elastomer Tear Strength Test

This video shows a tear strength test performed according to ISO 34 on an ADMET tensile tester. This test method is identical to ASTM D624 and ideal for determining the tear strength of elastomers.

The tensile testing machine pulls the elastomer apart and calculates the tear strength by dividing the maximum force by the thickness of the sample. The ISO 34 test method provides thickness results in N/mm.
