DuPont Use Tyvek to Improve Tangerine Production

DuPont recently announced the Tyvek® Tangerine Sponsorship Programs as part of its collaboration with the Korean agriculture industry to strengthen the city of Jeju's title as one of the world's top tangerine producers. Using the proven DuPont™ Tyvek® mulching technology, this five-program sponsorship series will enable farmers to create an ideal soil condition and improve the color and taste of tangerines, leading to higher productivity and profitability.
DuPont™ Tyvek® mulching is made of a unique material that has good reflectivity, low absorption and water resistance, yet is permeable to air and moisture. Used for more than 10 years in Japan, the Tyvek® mulching technology has proven to be effective in improving the appearance and taste of tangerines, growth rate and use of pesticides (due to lower pest population).

"We are honored that the Jeju agriculture community has selected the DuPont™ Tyvek® mulching technology to enhance its world-famous tangerines. This partnership serves to reaffirm our joint commitment to use science to create new technologies, processes and business opportunities," said Matt Trerotola, vice president and general manager, DuPont Nonwovens.
