Dream Car Station and Vibrance Collection finishes by PPG piqued attendees’
interest in new, expressive color trends for automobiles during the 8th China
International Auto Customization Expo, Feb. 20-23 at Beijing National Agriculture
Exhibition Center. The colorful display included nearly 50 dazzling colors and
florid effects.
More than 1,000 exhibitors displayed more than 50,000 auto parts and accessories
during the exhibition. The Dream Car Station display included PPG’s new
color deck including Radiance II tri-stage finishes created from toners and
dyes to achieve a deep rich "candy" appearance; Crystal Pearls finishes
designed to create a three-dimensional, glimmering effect; DX78 Prizmatique
flakes, which create finishes that glitter and sparkle with many different colors;
Harlequin color-shifting finishes that create exotic, wild color effects; and
Ditzler Big Flake pigments, available in silver, gold and four color-shifting
versions to create a range of basecoat and tri-coat custom color formulations.
One car enthusiast visiting the PPG booth said, “I like the deep, rich,
so-called ‘candy’ appearance and water droplet effect of the Radiance
II [finishes] – I would love to have the chance to use it to modify my
own car.”
PPG designed The Dream Car Station to provide a series of individual color
solutions that can help car owners to create unique vehicle colors as well as
helping auto-modification shops to increase profits.
