Robert Bosch Honors A. Schulman with 2011-2012 Bosch Global Supplier Award

A. Schulman, Inc. today announced that it has received the prestigious 2011-2012 Bosch Global Supplier Award in the "raw materials and components" category from Robert Bosch GmbH.

The Bosch Global Supplier Award recognizes companies that have performed exceptionally well in manufacturing and supplying products or services to Bosch over the past two years. The award is bestowed by an independent committee within the Bosch organization based on criteria such as quality, pricing, reliability, technology and continuous improvement. Joseph M. Gingo, A. Schulman's Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer, accepted the award on behalf of the A. Schulman team on July 4, 2013, in Stuttgart, Germany.

"A. Schulman is honored to receive this prestigious global supplier award from Bosch, reflecting our strong commitment to this outstanding global company," Gingo said. "This award speaks to our 'Passion for Plastics' and ability to meet a key global customer's high expectations to deliver innovative, competitive solutions on an international basis, backed by our local service and support. The A. Schulman team's goal is to be Robert Bosch's preferred innovation partner in the plastics industry."

A. Schulman supplies plastic resin to Bosch for use in a wide variety of industrial, automotive and consumer goods applications, including connectors, housings, covers, sensors, fans, shrouds and boxes.

"The Bosch Global Supplier Award serves both as recognition and inspiration. In awarding it to our top suppliers, we aim to motivate all our other suppliers to perform just as well," said Dr. Volkmar Denner, Chairman of the Bosch Board of Management, during the award ceremony in Stuttgart.

Bosch confers its global supplier awards every two years, and this is the 13th time the awards have been presented. In 2012, the Bosch Group's total purchasing volume came to some 27 billion euros. For the most part, purchases are made up of manufacturing materials such as electronic components, mechanical and electromechanical components, and plastic parts, but they also include merchandise, supplies, services and machinery.
