First Meeting for Members of REACH Antimony Consortium

Companies can still register online to become a member of the REACH antimony consortium

A first meeting for members of the REACH antimony consortium is scheduled for Wednesday, 30 January 2008 in Paris under the organisation of the International Antimony Oxide Industry Association (IAOIA). This follows successful kick-off meetings organised in Belgium and China during the last quarter of 2007.

Participation in REACH antimony consortium meetings will provide the necessary information for producers, importers, exporters and users of antimony compounds in order to remain on the EU market and to be part of the industry consortium to generate scientific data for specific antimony compounds.

REACH questionnaires have now been sent out to producers and importers of antimony compounds to identify the ‘sameness’ of the antimony compounds, the tonnages to register and the number of companies. Producers and importers of antimony compounds are encouraged to fill in a REACH questionnaire and return it to the Secretary-General of IAOIA, with a view to coordinating future registration requirements before December 7, 2007.
