CERAM Use Granta Technology to Extend Materials Testing and Consultancy Services

Granta Design, the materials information technology expert, and CERAM, a leading materials technology company, have announced that CERAM will use Granta software to extend its services in materials testing, analysis and consultancy.

CERAM applies its materials expertise to help clients improve performance and profitability throughout all stages of the product and systems lifestyle: from material selection and concept design to pre-evaluation, process optimisation and failure analysis. Granta's CES Selector software will be used by CERAM's team of materials consultants to assist with projects that involve analysis of materials' choices or manufacturing routes. CES Selector provides a systematic method and comprehensive data to support the rational selection of engineering materials and manufacturing processes. Granta's GRANTA MI materials information system is also available to CERAM, offering support for projects that require materials test data to be captured, stored, and shared in an easily-accessible but secure format.

"At CERAM we aim to use the best available tools to meet our customers' needs," commented Dr John Hines, Head of the Materials and Process Division at CERAM. "Working with Granta allows us to further improve our service through the use of the latest materials information and analysis software."

"At Granta, we're very committed to collaboration to ensure that our software can solve practical industrial problems," said Dr Patrick Coulter, Chief Operating Officer at Granta. "This is a great example of that collaborative approach, enabling Granta tools to be applied to more projects alongside CERAM's materials expertise."
