Wellman Order Solid State Polymerization Unit from Buehler

Wellman, Inc has taken the next step towards its previously announced PET resin expansion at Pearl River by placing an order for a solid state polymerization unit with Buhler, Inc. This equipment will have the capacity to produce 300 million pounds of solid stated PET resin annually.

Mike Dewsbury, Wellman's Vice President PET Resins U.S., stated, “Engineering and construction efforts are currently underway for a start up in the first quarter of 2006.”

Wellman, Inc. manufactures and markets high-quality polyester products, including Fortrel® brand polyester fibers and PermaClear® and EcoClear® brand PET (polyethylene terephthalate) packaging resins.
