Published on June 28, 2010 at 8:37 PM

Toho Tenax Ltd, the core company of the Teijin Group's carbon fiber business, announced today that its European division, Toho Tenax Europe GmbH, has been awarded a contract to supply carbon fiber material for major primary and secondary composite structures on Bombardier's new CSeries aircraft program.

Toho Tenax will be supplying a variety of carbon fiber types for both dry textile and prepreg use on the program. Toho Tenax expects the award to generate revenues of approximately EUR130 million over the next ten years.

Bombardier is a world-leading manufacturer of innovative transportation solutions, from commercial aircraft and business jets to rail transportation equipment, systems and services. The CSeries aircraft sets a new benchmark in the 100- to 149-seat class, combining advanced materials, and leading-edge technology to meet commercial airline needs from 2013 onwards.

Bombardier Aerospace has chosen Toho Tenax's advanced carbon fiber materials to support this aircraft program because the latest Tenax(r) carbon fiber materials meet the aircraft's advanced design requirements and support Bombardier's newly developed high-tech manufacturing processes.
