Quantachrome Instruments will be participating at the Carbon
2010 conference in Clemson, South Carolina, July 11-16 with a scientific
contribution presented by Dr Matthias Thommes, Quantachrome's Director of
Applied Science.
He will present a paper entitled "Advanced Physical Adsorption
Characterization of Nanoporous Carbons: Assessing Surface (Chemistry) Properties
and Pore Structure by a Combination of Water, Argon/Nitrogen and Carbon Dioxide
Adsorption" co-authored with Catherine Morlay, Zheling Zhang, Riaz Ahmad and
Jean-Pierre Joly, and which reflects work performed in a collaboration between
Quantachrome Instruments (USA) and the Université de Lyon-CNRS, IRCELYON
(France).
This years conference theme: "From Nano to Macro" reflects not only the
advances in nanocarbons which continue to reveal exciting new applications, from
electronic to optic to catalytic, but also the resurgence in interest in bulk
carbon materials, driven by increased demand in areas such as energy and
transportation.
Quantachrome Instruments is also pleased to be an event
Sponsor and will be promoting its products and support services during the
associated exhibition. To be highlighted is the recently introduced Autosorb-iQ
gas sorption analyzer which, in the iQ2 version, is capable of analyzing two
samples for detailed micropore size distribution simultaneously.
