Ferro Launches High Perfoamnce Non-Phthalate Plasticizer

Published on February 20, 2011 at 5:53 PM

Ferro Corporation (NYSE: FOE) , a leading supplier of performance additives, has launched Santicizer(R) Platinum P-1000 as the first commercial product in a series of innovative high performance non-phthalate plasticizers. Platinum P-1000 exhibits excellent plasticizing efficiency, fast fusion properties, and low volatility compared to many widely-used plasticizers.

Platinum P-1000's low volatility, high resistance to migration and low extractability in water and organic solvents provide for permanence in most applications, including adhesives and sealants, calendering, extrusion and plastisol products. Other P-1000 benefits include its remarkable resistance to mold and bacterial growth, excellent plasticizing efficiency in calendering processes, and suitability for clear applications.

As Platinum P-1000 offers excellent compatibility in many polymer systems including PVC, urethanes, latex acrylics, polysulphides and silicone hybrid systems, it offers a versatile non-phthalate plasticizer for the manufacture of a broad range of products.

"Ferro's new Platinum P-1000 technology offers a great new alternative to those looking for a high performance, non-phthalate plasticizer," said David Ankrett, Ferro's Global Business Director, Flexible Polymers.
