Global Wedge has been selected to distribute Dow Corning’s silicon-based products for solar module production in India. Based in Hyderabad, India, Global Wedge supplies solar raw materials, photovoltaic panels and modules and also develops solar photovoltaic projects.
Dow Corning Solar Business’ Global Distribution Manager, Allison Ashbrook stated that the company is happy to distribute its silicon-based solutions to the solar industry in India. Dow Corning's expertise in silicone-based products will enable Global Wedge’s customers to use superior products that are reliable and are of high quality. Both companies are excited to support the expansion of the Indian solar business.
Dow Corning has made several investments to extend its worldwide distribution network. Recently, the company has planned to invest $13 million to establish a Solar Energy Exploration & Development Center (SEED) in Belgium. This facility will focus on R&D, innovation of products and customer relationship.
The company is also investing to expand its product packages for solar cell production as well as installation and module assembly. The packages are produced using various high-performance silicone products, including sealants, potting agents, coating, adhesives, encapsulants and solar grade silicon.
