ThyssenKrupp and Robert Bosch to Develop Future Generation Lithium Ion Cells

In future, environmentally friendly electric energy storage devices will shape the energy supply in all areas. Currently, regenerative energies are expanding their market shares. Against this backdrop, the demand for high performance battery cells and battery systems for electrical energy storage is growing as well.

ThyssenKrupp System Engineering GmbH, in cooperation with Robert Bosch GmbH, will carry out the planning and set-up of a pilot production plan in Eisenach for material research and production methods for future generations of lithium ion cells. It is intended to industrialise these for ship applications at a later date.

The "Battery Plant Technology" business area develops and builds plants to manufacture cells, cell modules and batteries for the entire range of battery applications. Significant orders have already been received both nationally and internationally.
