US -based Eastman Chemical Company has announced that it has completed expanding its facility for hydrogenated hydrocarbon resins located in Middelburg, Netherlands. This is the third expansion to its Regalite hydrogenated hydrocarbon resins. This expansion has increased the capacity of the Middelburg facility by two times since 2006.
The Middelburg facility is the largest of its kind that specialises in the production of dispersions, rosin resins and hydrocarbon resins. The previous two expansions to hydrocarbon resins were made at the company’s facilities in Longview, Texas and Jefferson, Pennsylvania.
According to Middelburg’s site manager Rien Jonker, the enhanced capacity will enable the company to meet the growing demand from consumers and will also help in ensuring reliable and continuous supply of hydrocarbon resins in the future. The Regalite resins from Eastman Chemical have been in production from 1995 and are used for a wide range of applications such as plastic modifications, hot melt adhesives and polymer compounds. Due to their versatile and compatible properties Regalite resins can be used in combination with many kinds of polymers. They are highly stable and offer high colour and adhesive quality. The company employs around 10,000 employees to combine new inventions and technical know-how in order to offer customized and practical solutions to consumers all over the world.
