Advanced Composite Group (ACG) is to manufacture automotive body panels for the super car SPANO manufactured by GTA motors. The SPANO has been built using ACG’s Out of Autoclave (OoA) materials that are cost-effective and an innovative application of future materials without the compromise in aesthetics of the design.
ACG’s LTM 217 prepregs combined with LTM318B film as the surface film was chosen by GTA as the new age composites in the tooling and the BPS420 body panel system. ACG’s VTM 264 has been chosen for the impact resistance in certain part of the car design.
BPS 240 composite from ACG is a double ply partially impregnated epoxy prepreg system designed for the manufacture of body-in-white panels providing excellent surface quality. ACG’s ZPREG technology is applied to do the partial impregnation of the first ply at a curing temperature between 85~150° C. The second ply comprises of low density syntactic core material and structural fabric to provide panel firmness. Moreover, the composite panel is environment- friendly while painted in Hi-bake and low bake paint systems
ACG’s LTM217 prepregs offer cost-effective high temperature capable of composite tooling. LTM 24ST resin matrix was chosen by GTA as surfacing ply from ACG’s LTM 26EL prepreg that provides a smooth surface and ultraviolet stable finish for the SPANO.
