The President, CEO and Chairman of FMC, Pierre Brondeau stated that the vision of FMC 2015 is a growth strategy and in order to achieve this the company will be investing more than $100 million to set up a new manufacturing facility of microcrystalline cellulose in Thailand.
This investment will help FMC to broaden the availability of its signature product lines and its technologies in the regions, which are growing rapidly. This new plant will be able to supply Avicel colloidal MCC in the Asian Market.
The Avicel colloidal MCC, which is widely used in food and beverages, will be manufactured initially in Thailand by the end of 2014. This facility will later manufacture products to cater to the demands of the food and pharmaceutical markets.
FMC's Specialty Chemicals Group, President, Michael Wilson stated that this new facility will be significant to the MCC network since the demand for its supply of high-quality products is growing in Asia and it will also at the same time ease the burden of the existing facilities in Europe and North America, thereby providing growth globally.
FMC globally serves consumer, industrial and agricultural industries and markets, providing quality products and solutions for more than 50 years. The FMC Biopolymer manufactures pharmaceutical MCC and food products. The company specializes and operates in Industrial chemicals, specialty chemicals and products used in agriculture.
