Air Products to Exhibit VOC Recovery System at ChemInnovations 2012

Air Products (NYSE:APD) will highlight the environmental and operational benefits of its Cryo-Condap® nitrogen condensation system for the recovery and abatement of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) at the 2012 ChemInnovations Conference & Exhibition in New Orleans, La., from November 14-15.

This proprietary cryogenic technology is one of several industrial gas solutions that Air Products will feature at this year’s show to help chemical process industry professionals reduce their risk of noncompliance, improve safety, and lower costs.

Air Products’ Cryo-Condap® system uses liquid nitrogen (LIN) to condense and freeze VOC vapors. The condensate and frozen particles are then removed from the process, leaving a clean process gas stream that can be discharged into the atmosphere. This technology not only enables customers to conform to the toughest environmental regulations by reducing VOC emissions to below acceptable legislative levels, but can also recover nearly 100% of most solvents, enabling reuse in the process. Additionally, during the solvent recovery process, the LIN is vaporized into nitrogen gas, which can be reused for other applications, such as purging or blanketing, thus reducing operating costs.

Other industrial gas solutions to be featured by Air Products include the company’s PRISM® Hydrogen Generator, which provides cost-effective and reliable on-site gas generation of volumes from 2,000 scfh up to more than 10,000 scfh. The company also offers a Cryogenic Hydrogen Compressor, which is a proprietary high-pressure liquid hydrogen supply system that instantly matches changing production needs, resulting in reduced operating costs and minimum downtime. Air Products will also highlight its new Gas Converter mobile app, which quickly and easily converts weight and volume measures for common industrial gases including nitrogen, oxygen, argon, hydrogen, helium and carbon dioxide.

ChemInnovations attendees can stop by Booth #2435 to speak with an Air Products specialist about the company’s industrial gas solutions for a wide range of chemical processing applications, including hydrogenation, process cooling, particle size reduction, inerting and blanketing, sparging and stripping, wastewater treatment and oxidation, as well as the company’s various industrial gas supply options for small-volume to large-volume users.
