BOSE ElectroForce Launches the Bose 3200 Series III Family of DMA Test Instruments

Bose ElectroForce Systems Group introduces the Bose® 3200 Series III family of test instruments, offering research and development engineers improved accuracy, performance and ease-of-use for materials testing.

This advanced electrodynamic test system delivers significantly higher frequency response for fatigue and Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA) test applications than previously available Bose ElectroForce products.

The Bose 3200 Series III system delivers fatigue testing response up to 300 Hz and DMA testing up to 200 Hz, making it faster and more efficient for biomedical and engineered materials test applications, including biomaterials, tissues, elastomers, microelectronics, polymers and composites.

Equipped with a new proprietary acceleration compensation algorithm, the system can correct acceleration-induced force errors, ensuring higher-accuracy force measurement while also providing improved control at higher frequencies for a variety of test situations. The algorithm is integrated with a Bose proprietary displacement measurement system that provides resolution of one nanometer and accuracies in the range of microns.

The Bose® 3200 Series III system also includes an electronic lift mechanism that allows for easy adjustment of the test space, and a hand-held pendant to lock the instrument’s crosshead in the desired location. The locking function incorporates a new lever-actuated, split-clamp design that eliminates the need for any additional tools and provides users with immediate visual feedback.

In addition, the system features test status indicator lights in a convenient, highly visible location on the test frame. Three status lights -- green for “power on,” blue for “test running,” and red for “test fault situation” -- can be seen from any angle around the instrument, enabling improved test monitoring abilities in a laboratory setting.

Availability

The Bose 3200 Series III test system, with maximum force load capacity up to 450 newtons, is available immediately. Customers using earlier versions of ElectroForce 3200 test systems can purchase many of the new Series III features to enhance their existing systems.

All Bose test instruments incorporate proprietary linear motion technologies and WinTest® controls to provide an innovative approach to dynamic mechanical testing. For more information, visit Bose-ElectroForce.com.
