ThyssenKrupp Ferrosta pooling its Prague business operations

ThyssenKrupp Ferrosta, spol. s r. o., a company of the Materials Services Business Area, has restructured its operations and relocated its 4 warehouses from Rynholec and Hradec Králové to the capital city - Prague.

The new materials processing and storage shop, in which materials can be cut and customized precisely to specifications, covers an area of 13,500 m². Besides the ultramodern logistics center, adjusted to the latest logistics layout trends , the headquarters has been also moved within Prague to this new and centrally located site.

In addition, the Czech materials specialist has extended its line-up of pipes and tubes in order to meet rising customer requirements. Also, the Automotive Service Center operations have been again expanded and a new washer has been commissioned.

ThyssenKrupp Ferrosta has also been successful in acquiring another new major customer; for the first time after sending out invitations to bid, VOP opted for the Czech ThyssenKrupp subsidiary. VOP is a state owned company producing heavy machines products for state and private sector. To be main steel supplier of VOP, as ThyssenKrupp Ferrosta is today, means highly respected reference on the Czech steel market and benchmarking for other main steel customers.

From a strategic point of view, this pooling of our facilities in Prague is an important step within the change process in which we find ourselves. Having the headquarters and the warehouse under one roof saves us time and, above all, transports. The modern layout of the machinery also allows us to work much more effectively.
