Nordson ASYMTEK, a Nordson company, a leader in fluid dispensing, jetting, and conformal coating technologies, is hosting a special educational and networking event, the "Conformal Coating and Precise Fluid Dispensing Process Technologies Workshop", at the Embassy Suites Hotel Indianapolis-Downtown, Indianapolis, Indiana.

The conformal coating workshop is being held Wednesday, October 22, 2014, while dispensing and jetting are being featured on Thursday, October 23, 2014.

The workshop will enable those whose jobs involve the application of adhesives, underfills, sealants, conformal coatings and other liquids, to learn about the latest fluid chemistries, process techniques, and manufacturing solutions.

Roundtable discussions and networking activities include experts from Elantas, Henkel, Nordson ASYMTEK, Nordson MARCH, R&D VaporTech, and others that use fluid dispensing, jetting, and conformal coating products and technologies.

Keynote speaker for the event is Jason Keeping, global process lead for ruggedized electronics on the Advanced Corporate Development team at Celestica. He holds a B.A.Sc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Ryerson, is a Six Sigma/Lean Professional, and a licensed professional engineer.

Jason has focused his career on assessing the manufacturability and capabilities of conformal coating, potting, underfill chemistries and their interactions, dispensing technologies/processes, and on assembly-level cleaning.

Some hot topics and presentations include:

Conformal Coating

  • Automating your coating process (case study)
  • Determining conformal coating materials
  • Plasma treatment for optimal surface tension
  • Conformal coating application techniques
  • Reworking a conformally coated board
