Jenoptik Strides Ahead with Cutting-Edge Laser Modulation Technology

A new generation of pulse selectors makes Jenoptik modulators easier to control and increases their efficiency.

The key feature of the new Pulse Selector IOM is the automatic adjustment of the operating point, which ensures that the modulator's offset voltage is adjusted regularly and guarantees that pulse control is always accurate. Manual readjustment is therefore no longer necessary and the modulator can be used in continuous operation while maintaining the same quality standards. Thanks to the integrated USB port, the pulse selector can now be controlled from a PC, meaning it is much more user-friendly and adjustments are even easier.

Pulse selectors – reliable pulse picker controllers for integrated-optical amplitude modulators – have been part of Jenoptik's range since 2007. When used with fiber lasers, they ensure a steady reduction in the laser pulse repetition rate with high pulse suppression. This is essential for the reliable functioning of oscillator-amplifier systems. Jenoptik pulse pickers are used in precision material processing in areas such as semiconductor production and medical technology.

Wolfgang Keller, Deputy Head of Jenoptik's Optical Systems division, has high expectations for this new product range: "The use of fiber lasers for precision applications, such as in semiconductor production, has increased dramatically over the last few years. Modulators and the associated controllers are essential for these applications and Jenoptik has offered both for some time now. The feedback we receive from our customers shows that they place a great deal of trust in us. With the new features of the Pulse Selector IOM, we are providing our customers with even more benefits, thanks to increased reliability and safe handling.”
