Tell us about the company and why you are attending analytica 2018?
Freeman Technology provides material characterisation solutions designed to optimise process performance, increase productivity and improve quality in a diverse range of sectors. We will be exhibiting at Analytica for the first time in 2018 (Hall A2 Stand 423), it is an opportunity for our expert teams, including a representative from our newly established German office, to discuss individual powder handling challenges directly with delegates.
What products are you highlighting at analytica 2018?
Our solutions include the FT4 Powder Rheometer®, our flagship instrument, a unique and comprehensive powder tester, which uses patented dynamic methodology, automated shear cells (in accordance with ASTM D7891) and a series of bulk property tests to quantify powder behaviour in terms of flow and processability. This is complemented by the recently released Uniaxial Powder Tester, which provides an accurate and repeatable measure of the uniaxial Unconfined Yield Strength (uUYS) of a powder to assess and rank flowability.
In addition, we are also now able to offer end users in-line, real-time flow measurement capabilities via an exclusive partnership with Lenterra Inc. The Drag Force Flow sensor, an optical technology, aids process understanding and manufacturing efficiency.
What makes these products different from anything else on the market?
Freeman Technology has nearly two decades of experience in the field of powder characterisation. We designed and introduced the world’s only Powder Rheometer and have since focussed on the challenge of characterising powders and understanding the product development and manufacturing issues that the powder industry faces on a daily basis. We continually develop our portfolio, working with customers across a broad range of industries to develop novel and diverse solutions. As a consequence of our investment in research and development we have established unique and extensive application knowhow. When a customer purchases an instrument from Freeman Technology they not only benefit from unique, versatile and precision engineered instrumentation, but access to teams of experts with industry leading application knowledge and troubleshooting experience.
Which industries will benefit from this product?
All the products we offer have proven application in various powder processing industries, including pharmaceuticals, fine chemicals, food, cosmetics, toners, metals, ceramics, plastics, powder coatings, cement and additive manufacturing (3D printing). These applications extend to a number of processes including, filling, feeding, segregation, caking, milling, conveying, tablet compression etc. Whether the objective is to optimise a formulation in a development environment, predict in-process performance, understand batch differences, or to ensure the quality of raw materials or intermediates, we have a product suitable to provide users with valuable and unique information that will help address a specific challenge.
