Using Workflows Software to Automate Analysis

It is now easier to automate analyses with the new Thermo Scientific™ OMNIC™ Paradigm Software through the creation and running of customized workflows. Creating workflows is just like moving apps around on a smartphone.

The OMNIC Paradigm workflow shown here is very straightforward. A starting instructional prompt is displayed, the background measured, the sample measured, and a results report generated and archived. Tiles can simply be dragged and dropped from the left sidebar into the center area (known as the canvas) to create a workflow. The tiles can be edited by simply giving them a double click. Once the tiles are in place, the program can set to work and generate results!

Screens that resemble those shown in the images will be visible once the workflow is running. It is possible to edit the instructional text or insert pictures to demonstrate how a sample should be properly loaded for analysis. While the instrument is scanning, spectra can be displayed or hidden from the user. The final spectrum, shown in the last slide, is automatically archived to a location selected by the user. OMNIC Paradigm makes workflows clear and easy to execute for the user.

With workflows in OMNIC Paradigm, the possibilities are endless. There are eighteen tiles available, meaning that any method or SOP can be streamlined. OMNIC Paradigm is even able to create a workflow. The sample just needs to be collected, the spectrum processed, and “Create Workflow” clicked within the history icon.
