In this article, Titan Enterprises describes its enduring professional affiliation with Vianet (known formerly as Brulines) for the production and supply of beer flow sensors. For 20 years, Titan Enterprises has supplied over 600,000 beer flow sensors in numerous forms.

This successful professional relationship started when Brulines were creating a telemetry product to offer the owners of pub chains providing data about their bar activity, employing an electronic point of sale (EPOS) system. Following the trial of multiple test beer flow sensors, Brulines desired a solution to resolve beer flow sensor carrying lifespan issues – and the imprecision of the optical detection method.

Titan Enterprises presented an altered edition of its 800-series turbine flow meter as the design comprised of robust sapphire bearings – recognized as dependable for thousands of hours of use, and a Hall impact detector which had no problems with discoloration within the pipe. To ensure the beer flow sensor was ‘fit for purpose,’ Titan modified the cable type in addition to the body and lengthened the cables to 10 meters. These adjustments meant Brulines installations could be protected in beer cellars with differing wire runs to the control panel, not needing any junction boxes.

With the broad dependability and accomplishment of the initial product, Vianet once again called on Titan Enterprises to produce an “intelligent” flowmeter (IFM) for their enhanced iDraught retail product. The conditions for this IFM required that it should additionally record temperature as well as establishing the type of fluid in the line to pinpoint line cleaning cycles which are critical for the supply of a good pint of beer.

After development, trialing and testing, this new IFM was introduced and distributed to Vianet at the rate of up to 3500 units a week. Due to this first IFM introduction, close partnership between the two parties has resulted in five iterations of the product with altered elements as end user needs have grown.

Titan’s supply chain has always delivered to our quality and timescale needs.
