Complex and large assemblies, nickel-based alloys, rocket engines and tanks, combustion chambers, engine blocks and turbine blades are just a few of the common applications that can be easily and rapidly scanned by the new MeVX6™ High Energy system.

The MeVX Series

The true cost of insufficient energy becomes clear when you need to find the right answers – fast. Penetration can be difficult with energies of 450 kV and less when inspecting large, thick or dense materials. Scatter, noise and beam hardening artifacts negatively impact the image reliability.

To improve not only penetration but also image quality, the MeVX6 uses a 6 MeV linear accelerator (LINAC).

High Energy Power

NSI’s MeVX6 has the power to penetrate the most challenging parts, thanks to its six million electron volts coupled with proprietary scatter reduction technology. This added penetration significantly reduces artifact, as evidenced with the Turbo Pump (displayed here).

Better defect detection, geometrical representations of part features and surfacing of volumetric data for nominal comparisons are all facilitated by the reduction of these artifacts.
