Wear Resistant Glass – Barcode Scanner Glasses

DIAMONEX, the world's premium supplier of Superhard Diamond-like Products, offers the 3 best choices in scanner glass. This innovative line of scanner windows can dramatically improve the lifetime, read accuracy and read rate of laser barcode scanners. Uncoated glass is subject to scratching and scuffing, resulting in poor read accuracy and read rate. DIAMONEX’s superior surface has high hardness, chemical resistance and very low friction which means less re-scanning, reduced POS cost and happy customers.

Everscan

Windows used in supermarket laser barcode scanners and other high volume barcode scanning applications are subject to scratching from objects such as glass bottles and other packaged goods when their barcodes are scanned, resulting in reduced read rate, poor read accuracy and lower productivity. Our patented EVERSCAN superhard windows exhibit extreme diamond-like properties that will last the life of the scanner, allowing authorized OEMs to offer a lifetime warranty.

The performance of EVERSCAN is similar to sapphire scanner windows at a fraction of the price. Unlike sapphire windows, however, EVERSCAN can be produced in any size to meet the demands of new system designers or to replace scanner glass in existing scanners. DIAMONEX can provide this product in quantities suitable for scanner equipment manufacturers or grocery store chains.

The most scratch resistant coated glass offered by DIAMONEX. Designed for bar code scanning, this coated glass offers an inexpensive alternative to sapphire-laminated glass products. A limited Lifetime Warranty is offered for bar code scanning applications

Aegisglass Plus

DLC-coated AEGISGLASS PLUS® can dramatically improve the lifetime, read accuracy, and read rate of laser barcode scanners. Windows in supermarket laser barcode scanners are subject to scratching and scuffing from metal cans and glass bottles. Scratched and scuffed windows scatter the laser light, resulting in poor read accuracy and read rate.

  • Scratch resistant
  • Low friction
  • High hardness
  • Impact resistant
  • Chemically inert
  • Increases productivity
  • Cost-effective retrofit
  • 100x's longer life than
  • Standard scanner glass

In a busy line of a grocery store (50,000 items scanned per week), an uncoated glass window typically has a productive life of about 4 weeks. DIAMONEX test results indicate AEGISGLASS PLUS® has a hundred times longer useful life than uncoated scanner glass. The diamond-like carbon surface can't be scratched by anything sold in a grocery store. Less re-scanning means reduced POS cost and happy customers.

The performance characteristics of Aegisglass in laboratory simulation and in-store field testing suggests that the lifespan of Aegisglass is in excess of 5 years of continuous duty in a busy supermarket checkout lane.

Our AEGISGLASS PLUS® offers better transmission with a slightly lower scratch resistance than the Everscan. For bar code scanning applications, DIAMONEX offer a 5 year limited warranty

Scanshield

The Most Economical Scanner Glass with a 1 year Warranty which outlasts Tin-Oxide Coated Glass by 4-5 times and uncoated glass by 40 times. Scanshield is only available in full coating run quantities.

Other Coated Glass Products

Our Aegisglass coated glass offers the best transmission vs AEGISGLASS PLUS® and EVERSCAN. For bar code scanning applications, DIAMONEX offers a 3 year limited warranty. Scanshield is our most economical coated glass and for bar code scanning applications offers a 1 year limited warranty. Please Contact Us for more details on these coatings
