DIL 2016 STD Dilatomer from Orton Ceramic Foundation

Orton offers the DIL 2016 STD dilatometer, which is often used for Thermal Dilatometer Analysis (TDA). TDA helps in determining the dimensional change of various materials, including composites, metals, glass, ceramics, carbon/graphite, polymers, minerals, etc. as a function of temperature.

A typical dilatometer test measures reversible as well as irreversible modifications in length during heating and cooling process, and identifies where reactions take place that cause contraction or expansion.
