The EPL picosecond pulsed diode lasers offered by Edinburgh Instruments are the latest excitation source for fluorescence lifetime measurements. These lasers bridge the gap between the mode locked titanium sapphire femtosecond lasers and nanosecond flashlamp lasers in Time Correlated Single Photon Counting (TCSPC).
The EPL lasers have proprietary beam conditioning optics. They are sturdy, easy to use and do not require maintenance. For an optimum pulse width, the EPL lasers are pre-adjusted and due care has been taken to reduce a secondary shoulder. The output has a pulse width of below 100ps.
