The SMP21 – Secondary Standard, Low-Maintenance Pyranometer

The secondary standard pyranometer SMP21, available from Kipp & Zonen, combines the technology from the CMP21, has analog output, low maintenance and the RS-485 Modbus® interface. It is equipped with an internal desiccant that can last up to a decade, reducing maintenance significantly.

The SMP21 can be equipped with the CVF4 ventilation unit to extend the interval for cleaning the dome and to improve the quality of measurements. It comes with individual test cosine response data along with the Modbus® RTU interface.

The pyranometer provides power supply ranging from 5 to 30 VDC, thereby allowing easy integration in solar power and meteorological stations. It is also protected against short circuiting, reversed polarity, and over voltage. Since the output and connections are standardized, the SMP21 can be easily interchanged for recalibration.

SmartExplorer Windows™ software for data logging, display of data and Modbus® address setting is provided as standard.
