The SUV5 from Kipp & Zonen is a robust radiometer for the measurement of total ultraviolet irradiance. An optimized directional response is provided by the diffuser and the high quality dome of the instrument.
Sensitivity to combined UVA and UVB is provided by a photo-diode detector and an optical filter. A voltage output is generated that is proportional to the UV intensity
SUV5 is not suitable for the measurement of specific parts of the UV Spectrum; UVA, UVB or UVE/UV Index For these individual parameters the Kipp & Zonen UVS series is required.
Easy installation is provided by the waterproof plug and socket cable connection, protected by a snap-on sun shield that also provides a view of the integrated bubble level.
SUV5 possesses a microprocessor with digital signal processing, temperature correction and linearization of the measurement data, Modbus® RS-485 interface, and an amplified analogue output. This device operates from 5 to 30 VDC and can easily be integrated into various meteorological and industrial applications.
The standardized output and connections enable the instruments to be exchanged easily for recalibration. Modbus® address setting, and SmartExplorer Windows™ software for data logging and display are provided as standard.
