ORACLE, from CEM, is the first ever rapid fat analyzer that does not require method development. With just the touch of a button, the ORACLE is capable of analyzing fat in any food sample with reference chemistry accuracy, without any prior knowledge of the sample matrix and composition.

By just pressing the run arrow, the ORACLE delivers a remarkably accurate and precise fat result of any food sample within 30 seconds. The ORACLE is thus that simple to use.

ORACLE is Unique

Major breakthrough in NMR technology

  • Newly developed technique achieved in 2016
  • Alternative rapid techniques are unable to totally isolate fat from other components, which is why extensive calibration development is frequently needed
  • Technology completely isolates the detection of the proton signal in fat molecules from all other compositional proton sources (i.e. ash, protein, carbohydrate) making a universal fat analyzer possible

Get an accurate analysis of any food sample in only 30 seconds

ORACLE was verified with more than 30 Certified Reference Materials (CRM’s) sourced from USA and Europe. These trusted samples go through extensive reference testing, in numerous certified laboratories and provide a benchmark for any food testing methodology. The blue data in the graph displays the linearity between the ORACLE rapid fat results and the CRM reference results. CEM also outsourced hundreds of samples to third party testing laboratories for wet chemical reference chemistry analysis since CRM’s are limited in their available matrices. The comparison between the outside lab reference results and the ORACLE is highlighted through the red data in the chart.

Versatility

Rapid and High Throughput Configurations

ORACLE has been custom designed to work in any lab setting, from certified testing laboratories to process control in food production sites (at line and in lab). To satisfy customers requiring rapid moisture/solids analysis in addition to fat analysis, it is possible to pair the ORACLE with the newly developed SMART 6 analyzer for moisture/solids results in = < 5 minutes. Alternatively, the stand-alone ORACLE high throughput solution will be selected by those customers who run 50 or more samples per day. In this solution, samples are dried in an oven overnight and subsequently run through the ORACLE in batch mode.

Rapid Fat and Moisture

ORACLE + SMART 6

Test time = < 5 minutes

Ideal for the following:

  • Pilot plants
  • Quality control labs
  • At-line food manufacturers
  • Customers requiring rapid fat and moisture analysis for process control

Testing process:

  • Dry sample in SMART 6 Moisture/Solids Analyzer in 2-4 minutes
  • Rapidly condition sample in QuikPrep
  • Run samples through the ORACLE for exceptional fat analysis in < 30 seconds

High Throughput

ORACLE only

Fat analysis in < 30 seconds

Ideal for the following:

  • Certified testing laboratories
  • Research and development laboratories
  • Laboratories testing 50+ samples per day

Testing process:

  • Dry samples in ergonomic sample holders overnight in oven (vacuum or convection) with film and pads
  • Condition samples in CEM Precision Heater Block for 1 hour
  • Run samples through ORACLE for exceptional fat analysis in < 30 seconds

Accessories:

  • Balance
  • Optional- automated robot
  • Sample holders and trays for oven
  • CEM Precision Heater Block- designed to firmly control temperature evenly across the entire block to 0.3 °C

Obtain consistent results, anywhere in the world

Ideal for corporate integration

All ORACLES are manufactured and designed with the aim to produce the same results all over the world, enabling the system to become a perfect solution for corporations planning to standardize rapid instrumentation. Alternative rapid fat analyzers are susceptible to differences in system components and optics, which prevent them from transferring methods between different locations. This explains the fact that each system requires unique method development, which eventually translates to extensive time and capital. In addition to this, there is also no guarantee that the results will match.

ORACLE users can rest assured that all sites will get the same accurate, consistent results as this system does not require method development and all the systems are the same. This means that, for instance, a pet food distributor in Texas will obtain the same accurate ORACLE fat result as its parent manufacturer in California and the primary fish and meat suppliers in Japan and Australia.

ORACLE will fit right into the workflow

Easy to Use

Just press the run arrow, enter the sample ID and mass, and obtain a fat result in less than 30 seconds.

No Chemist Required

It is possible for anyone to walk up to the system and understand operation in no time, thus simplifying the training process for new employees.

Versatile

ORACLE is capable of being used in a laboratory or at-line on a production floor.

  • Imports sample barcodes directly into sample ID for data storage and recall
  • Ergonomic barcode scanner and stand are included with each system
  • Incorporates seamlessly with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System)
  • Scans numerous barcode types including Datamatrix code, QR Code, ITF, Code 39, EAN, UPC and many others...

Enjoy sophisticated software, that is easy to use

Select individual results for detailed analysis

Sort data, run QC tests, and run diagnostics

Advanced diagnostics ensure hardware is performing optimally and samples are running accurately

ORACLE is available with a highly responsive, easy to use, touchscreen interface. The design of the software is very simple allowing anyone to walk up, press the run arrow and complete an analysis.

For those users that want to delve deeper into the system functionality, the software includes advanced data processing capabilities, such as USB output, LIMS connectivity, data and system export, quality control tests, system diagnostics, data sorting and many others.

It is also possible to pair ORACLE with a balance in order to directly capture sample masses or if users want to weigh samples in a separate location, the software includes an import function. This is suitable for large testing facilities that run 100’s of samples on a daily basis and have dedicated sample weighing rooms. The USB should be inserted, followed by selecting the import icon and then the full batch becomes automatically populated.

ORACLE also contains a wide range of user control settings (such as Administrator and Basic User), in order to provide customers the flexibility to select which information (i.e. system settings, data) is available on a user level basis.
