The Thermo Scientific™ Talos™ F200i S/TEM is a 20-200 kV field emission (scanning) transmission electron microscope exclusively built for performance and productivity across an extensive range of materials science samples and applications. Its typical X-Twin pole piece gap — offering the maximum flexibility in applications — along with a reproducibly performing electron column opens opportunities for high-resolution 2D and 3D characterization, diffraction applications and in situ dynamic observations.

The Talos F200i S/TEM is designed for multi-user and multi-discipline environments, and is also perfect for beginners. It is fitted with the Thermo Scientific Velox™ user interface, which is instantly familiar since it is shared across all Thermo Scientific TEM systems. All TEM day-to-day tunings have been automated to offer the best and most reproducible arrangement. This automation simplifies the learning curve for trainee operators, decreases tensions in a multi-user environment, and enhances time-to-data for the experienced operator. A side-entry retractable Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS) detector can be added to the configuration to enable chemical analysis.

The Talos F200i’s smaller footprint and dimensions facilitate accommodation of this tool in more challenging spaces. Furthermore, this compact design eases access for service requirements while also reducing infrastructure and support costs.
Productivity for all users
To further improve productivity, particularly in multi-user, multi-material environments, the low-hysteresis design, constant-power objective lenses and remote operation with SmartCam allow for direct reproducible mode and high-tension switches. The Talos F200i S/TEM also provides educational online help. Just pressing F1 with the mouse hovering over a control panel swiftly opens relevant information.
