A Directional Way Finding Fire Safety LED light that is capable of being actuated by sensing the sound of smoke sounders, or through a non-sounding smoke-head in communal parts of buildings with general needs, for example, stay put policy.

Stand-by Power If Mains Fail

Battery - 12 V 2.1 Ah sealed lead acid.

Selectable timed disconnect in order to avoid deep discharge of the battery.

An on-board charging circuit is used for maintaining the battery charge.

Audible Detection Circuit

The audio detection circuit is used for monitoring the background audio levels and the unit will then activate the direction indication lamp when the sound is greater than the audio level setting. When it is sustained for more than 6 or 12 seconds (selectable), it will be possible to adjust the audio threshold in order to suit the environment.

Automatic Light level Detection (Option)

The unit can be set into a mode where audio will only be detected in lower light level, and this is selectable through the on-­board dip switch settings.

Lux Output

Exceeds 20 LUX output @ 1 meter distance. Measured in area registering 0 (zero) LUX before and exceeding 20 LUX after the light is activated and illuminated.

Self-Test Function

The unit will carry out a self test on the unit where it will operate the light for 1s and this will then be detected by an on-board sensor, if the test is detected the light will continue in the normal operation.

If the test is not detected, then a red fail LED will flash to highlight the occurrence of a failed test.

The test will be repeated two more times and if these also fail then the fault light will be illuminated in the steady state in order to show there has been a failure. This can only be reset by total power down of the unit. There is a fault buzzer on the unit, which can be selected by using switch 6.
