The PolyScan is a light-weight scanner that is designed to produce high-resolution terahertz images and object mappings.
The PolyScan works by scanning a single fiber-fed terahertz sensor to produce images, allowing for modifications in the focal position to improve image contrast and resolution. The unit is portable and light-weight (<20 kg), and can be positioned for an assortment of varied imaging applications with the capacity to be mounted vertically or horizontally for highest flexibility.
The PolyScan is used along with the TeraPulse 4000 system and a fiber-fed emitter/detector sensor pair, and can scan an area of up to 300 mm x 300 mm. The sensor head is mounted directly onto the PolyScan unit allowing for total control of the scan speed, scan area, and z position, with the ability to choose different focal length lenses to improve depth-of-field and resolution during image acquisition.
The design and structure of the unit specifically address the subject of maintaining stability under diverse operating conditions and builds on TeraView’s extensive experience in implementing terahertz imaging modules in the field.
