The Los Angeles Abrasion Machine consists of a heavy steel cylinder, rotated about a horizontal axis. The cylinder includes a removable internal shelf. Two alternative shelf positions are added: one for ASTM and one for the EN test technique. The heavy duty steel cylinder is made from structural steel plate. The filling aperture comes with a cover. The machine is equipped with a digital revolution counter and steel tray for specimen unloading. As a standard, it is also supplied with one set of abrasive charges.
