7400-S Series Vibrating Sample Magnetometers from Lake Shore Cryotronics

The 7400-S Series vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) from Lake Shore Cryotronics is based on the features of the most popular 7400 Series VSM. The 7400-S VSM efficiently measures a wide range of samples, and is appropriate for magnetic material characterization applications.

The 7400-S VSM is available in varied sizes, and has increased field strengths and an enhanced design. The 10-inch magnet version offers up to 3.42 T strengths; the 7-inch, up to 3.05 T; and the 4-inch, up to 2.63 T.

The device offers improved field control and faster field ramping. It also includes an updated controller with better gaussmeter sensitivity, and quick-swap detection coils with superior detection efficiency. The 7400-S VSM has an upgraded PC/monitor workstation, which enables users to employ the software’s Windows® interface to assist in carrying out the measurement process.

The 7400-S VSM allows multiple parameters from hysteresis loop data to be extracted during the testing of samples in powder, thin film, solid and liquid form. The devices can be used for first order reversal curve (FORC) data acquisition using the free downloadable utility from Lake Shore.
