Tooling Foam Board - LAST-A-FOAM® FR-4800

The LAST-A-FOAM® FR-4800 is a low CTE, high-temperature tooling board that can be utilized with high-temperature resin systems such as BMIs, vinyl esters and epoxies, in fiber-reinforced composites and high-pressure autoclaves. It can endure continuous use temperatures up to 400 °F (204 °C) and peak temperatures up to 480 °F (249 °C).

Even at high temperatures, the FR-4800 tooling board is notably better than other plastics in the market, because it does not warp or twist. Its shape will not alter during the course of thermal cycling, preventing out-of-tolerance parts. In addition, its repeatable and predictable CTE makes it easy to calculate a tooling correction factor. This aid in improving the capability to manufacture high-tolerance parts, which is crucial in the production of parts for the automotive, aerospace, and defense industries.
